As a major research institution, Vanderbilt University offers masters and doctorate degrees in a wide range of scientific and engineering disciplines. Students perform state-of-the-art research in 25 departments from the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Engineering, the School of Medicine, and Peabody College of Education. In addition, new programs, such as Chemical and Physical Biology, the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences, and the Interdisciplinary Program in Materials Science, are designed to prepare students for scientific careers at the interface between traditionally distinct disciplines.
